Several posts have suggested avoiding going I90 to I15 because of the numerous crossings of the Continental Divide. Please comment on Rt 3 from Billings to Great Falls which zig zags through Lavina and Harlowton. Traveling in a 40' MH towing a SUV.

It's the shorter route and cuts the travel time by nearly an hour. Flatter too which makes it easier on the gas tank. Even has some nice mountains to look at in the distance.

North on US 191/MT 3
West on US 12/MT 3
In Harlowton, go north on US 191/MT 3
When you intersect US 87 go West on US 87/US 89/MT 3 all the way to Great Falls.

First law of science: don't spit into the wind.
Keep on rollin'!

This is the route we have used for several years going both ways. We have a 32' 5th.
