I have a WF-8855 converter. Last weekend I seem to have had a brown out from it. The 12v lights got very dim. The CO2 detector was blaring, also. Even though the circuit the converter is on had not popped, I turned it off, waited a few seconds an turned it back on. All 12v lights came back on as bright as ever and the CO2 quit blaring. This happened twice that night. We were there for about 36 hours after the last instance, with no problem. We only had 30amp hookup. The kill-a-watt showed 122.7v. I was at a campground we had not been to before. I did not have a voltmeter with me to see if the campground power might have been weak.
I have not had the problem since returning home. That was 5 days ago. Is this a sign that there are issues with the converter?

Turn all the lights on and check voltage at the fuse panel.
Should be about 13.6 volts. Then check voltage at the battery... should be same.

Is that during the brown out, normal ops or both.

Never mind. I answered my own question. If at any time it does not read 13.6 then there is a prob.

1.make sure the water in the battery is above the top of the plates
2.the manual says to disconnect the battery and the converter should output 13.6v
3. my 8855 sometimes didnt like some campgrounds
4. also check the ground from the battery it bolts to the frame and can come loose.
5. I just replaced mine because my lights would dim sometimes but no alarms and my extended wartanty was about to run out. the lights are steady.

Thanks for the quick response. I am off on a business trip for a couple days. Will get the voltmeter on it this weekend.

My report. All systems, batteries and converter are working optimally. I found out that the condition is caused by both the CG and us. Went to the same CG last weekend. Finally found the breaker switch to our pole. It was two sites away, in a breaker box that combined four sites. It was marked.
When we plugged in the volts were at 120.7, with only the converter running. Powered on the front, 13.5, AC, and power dropped to 117.9 and then settled at 118.9. All was good. Powered up the Sat antenna, power dropped to 117.5 and settled back to 117.9 after acquisition. Wife likes her hot water and there is where we did in our selves. We have a Hotrod in the WH tank. When she fired it up, the power dropped to 110.9 for a while. I am sure that is where we over taxed the already weak grid when we were there before. We switched to gas only for the rest of the weekend. No issues. Temp go to 102 so I checked a couple of times mid afternoon and saw the power fluctuate between 115-117. No other power issues throughout the weekend.
Sorry it took me a while to report back and thanks for the help.

Recommendation: Progressive Dynamics 9260. A top of the line 3-stage converter/charger from a company based in Michigan. NOT China.

After rereading the OP I think the breaker was just tripped. They don't always look or feel tripped. Full off and back on required to reset.

Agreed. I did reset them each time they tripped.
p.s. I have a Hughes Autoformer.
