We have 2005 Winnebago Adventurer. It is equipped with a Sharp model R1870 micowave/convection oven. It is malfunctioning. It will only stay on for 1 minute at a time and then has to be reset continuously. I have tried to remove it but it appears that it was installed before the slide was put in place as there is scews that come through the top with no means to access the heads. Anyone know how to remove or repair?

Did mine about a year ago in my 2004 Meridian 36G DP. Mine would stay on either 58 or 59 seconds, don't remember which but it was consistant. It's either the dapper motor or switch, understand from other Posters that it can be either causing this so I had both replaced. Seems the two ran about $40 and the serviceman charged me $100 to remove, replace the two pieces, and replace the oven. I ordered the parts ahead of time to be sure they were available when the oven was removed so it would be out of service as short time as possible. That thing weighs about 70 lbs so it's a little weldy when handling. Some Rvers could do the removal/replacing themselves but I needed help.
There are two long bolts accessable through the filter screen positions, several screws down from the top which can be accessed by removing the bottom of the cabinet above the oven, and and 2-4 screws looking back underneath the oven. Anyway that's how mine came out.

Wagonmaster2 Unfortunately there is not a cabinet above my oven and there is screws that appear to have come through the top of the slide out prior to it being installed.

Just had our new one repaired, if you take out the filters there were two bolts angled that held it in
Barring that call Winnebago help desk they will help you

I just removed mine (Sharp R1880)... it was an adventure. There are 2 long diagonal screws that go from the lower front of the MW upward towards the back and into wall brackets (I needed to remove the bottom panel of the MW to access them). There were 2 screws into the "J" molding at the lower back of the MW against the wall. There were 2 screws into the top on the MW near the front that required me to disassemble the bottom of the cabinet above. There were also 4 other screws from the upper cabinet in the MW (not factory items). It took 2 people and lots of effort.
I've been told that if you are in an accident with your Class A, you should lift up your feet to for the crash to happen below you, and then duck for the MW to come forward. Mine would never do that.

If you aren't already registered with them, you might go to either RVforum.net/SMF_forum or IRV2.com/forums and scroll down to the Winnebago section. There are some very helpful campers on those sites and someone may have the same coach with a bad Sharp MW as these things seem to be a bunch of******when it comes to quality. In the last year or 2 there have been a lot of us with the microwave/convection oven that would run 58-59 seconds and shut off.

It's a very well known problem with the Sharp and I'm not sure if youhave to pull it to repair. May be able to access it through the front.

It's the famous 59 second run and stop problem. The damper door motor is bad.
Has to be removed to fix.
On mine there were 4 bolts holding it in place.
Two were very long diagonal bolts that were inserted on the bottom front of the oven. The other two came through the middle of the top of the unit.
I had to remove the stapled in floor of the cabinet above the microwave to remove it. It was about $125 to repair it.
Sharp was of no help on the problem, found a local appliance repair guy who came to my place and removed, repaired and reinstalled it.
I don't buy Sharp products anymore based on this experience.

Same here. I never even consider any appliance with Sharp on it anymore after contending with my Sharp microwave/convection oven. Knowing what a problem this 59 seconds was Sharp could have built up some terrific public relations by stepping up to the plate and helped take care of it. I'm shopping for a new flat screen TV and guess what ones I'm overlooking?

Wagonmaster2 Where were you able to order the parts from. I got the unit out but Sharp is not very helpful
