I wired my 4" square external dual fans (in the vent area), with an 85* snap switch, comes on at 85* and stays on untill the outside temps drops below 85* then goes off, also have a switch to shut it off permanately if needed.

Sure makes a difference on keeping the reefer cooler, also have a dual Blue fan inside wired to the hot wire in the curcuit board, since the newer reefer Nor Cold have magnetic door switches for the internal lite now.

not all RV fridges have constant 12-volts at the light. my Norcold N841 is one of them.

Tuna,

No I don't remember what the temperature was or if the ad said what it was other than they were lower than the stock switch. You can probably find his ad on ebay. I also use the hot side of the inside interior light for fan power for the dual blue fans.

The two switches in the center of the support bar are two way- down for thermostat control and up for manual. One switch controls the lower two and the other one the upper two that lay on top of the fins.It doesn't really show in the picture but the fans are on about a 45 degree angle pointing in and up.The manual option on the power switches I find was unnecessary and is never used.

I put a computer fan inside NO HOLES REQURED I tapped the light power lead, There are two ways to do this, wire across the switch and door closed = fan on, wire across the entire assembly and the fan is always on.

For the otside fan.. I found the outside end of the very same wire I used inside, yes, it goes out and hooks to the connections board.

If you have the upper access panel that you can get above the refrigerator coil behind the refrig. you may be able to use this setup. It was posted on another forum. 4-48cfm fans that you could hook up individually or all together. Great price and 192cfm if you have the room for it.

Hi Spike99,

Nice install. How about adding a snap disk or other thermometer to your modification?

.

If "outside" the fridge, do investigate:

For 10mm 12V Computer fan with manual off/on switch install method (that I installed on my fridge's rear panel), see:

If wondering, I'd install the computer fan again. It was low cost and very easy to "make fit" into the rear of the fridge.

Note: Remember to install a manual off/on switch as well. Thus, one can "turn the fans off" - if they keep folks awake at night.
