For 27,000lbs, I'll prefer a Ford V10, preferably an F-450. But yeah, I'd use a Ram 3500 with the Hemi for that weight.

The spelling is Aisin and it is only available in the cab and chassis trucks. The 6 sp auto is a Chrysler transmission 68RFE and it has been proven to be very durable. Tha peak HO engine torque is at 1,600rpm and the peak hp is at 3,013 rpm.
FYI I spoke to the guys at Randy's Ring and Pinion they said that the American Axle will last much longer with a larger diff cover and the larger volume of gear lube. They said to look at the diff covers there are a lot of them with the paint coming off because of excessive heat.
