Hi, During our Fort Desto camping trip last weekend the main door handle 3-4 times pulled out to an extreme angle and did not open the door and you could not push it back in.
The only way I could get it to work was to good in thru the cab doors and use the inside handle to open the door then it worked fine again.
It seems like the handle is jumping over a linkage inside the door. Has anyone had this happen to them? If so what/how did you repair the handle?
I have a spare set of RV keys hidden outside the camper but did not have a spare cab key. Luckly I did not lock the cab, know I have a complete set of keys hidden outside the RV for emergencies.
Please let me know what to do.
Thanks,
Terry

and if it's that specific lock, be thankful you were able to get back in without a major project.
The exact model lock in question is a couple posts down. If you gOOgle that part number you can see if that's the one you have. If it is, suggest replacement with a different brand.

Yikes, thanks for this post. Our door lock has not worked since we bought the rig. We always use the cab doors. The lock has both a keyed lock and an unkeyed deadbolt. Both only work from inside-the key does not turn the lock.
Never thought the bolt could break in the locked position though! Something else that we may need to replace? I'll check the brand to see if it matches the troubled one or if the sticking lock problem is universal too. (Like cab over leaks!)
