I am thinking about getting a new toad.
Would like to hear from those towing the CRV.
I will be towing with a 35 foot class A, F53, 310 hp.
Would like to hear from you with any info. that might help me make a decision. Will be a 2003_2007.

Good except can only travel at 65 MPH, not a problem for most.

I towed my 2004 for four years with no problem. Had the F53 Chassis. Didn't know it was there.

We have had no problems. We chose it because Consumer Reports loves it a lot more than the Jeeps in terms of mpg & reliability.

27,000 towed miles on my 2006 CRV, stickshift. Never a problem towing. Front end plastic shield-thing is pretty beaten up, I'm trying to decide if it is worth replacing it.
My only complaint is that it is a pretty noisy vehicle on the highway.
The 2007's are the newer curvy shape. I prefer the earlier body style.

The CRV is high on my toad's replacement list. My options are to either put some major repairs into the old toad (doable, but to what worth?), or something newer. My son bought a Civic a couple of months ago, and the salesdroid tried to interest me in a CRV for about $23K. Turns out, nobody in the quadrant has a used CRV with less than a parsec for mileage. Anyway, the hook was that the CRV is towable out of the gate, and only needs a tow plate and hook up for the EasyBrake. It's lighter than the old Explorer (3880#), which my old rig handles well.

Best all purpose vehicle I have ever owned. Exceptionally reliable with very low maintenance costs and high resell value. Towing is very easy, just make sure to following towing directions exactly with no shortcuts.

We tow a 2010 CRV - the only issue is 2010 year requires a fuse pulled to allow key to be left in ACC position without draining the battery. We had a dead battery on 2 occasions. We have since installed a remote switch that turns the fuse off...10,000 towing miles without a problem. Check with owners manual and see if 2012 has same issue. This is our 3rd Honda CRV and it's is a great car to tow; it is also my wife's daily driver.
