Hi, I ave a very basic question. I had a total knee replacement done and we are ready to hit the road but I need an elevated toilet seat. the riser that Camping Wolrd sells to elevate the toilet is not high enough. The elevated seat that i have for the home toilet is too large for the smaller RV toilet. Does anyone know of a brand of elevated toilet seat that is made for the small RV sized commode? Thanks for any help....

Go to any Camping World they usually have the full line of toilets on display which makes it easier to choose which one is best for you.
That's what I did. They do make a taller one and you can even buy the taller one AND add the riser to that for more height.

Do note that you will have to buy RV water line and connectors to extend the water inlet to reach the new toilet. I forgot that part and was on the road when I replaced my toilet and ended up spending the entire weekend searching for RV water line and connectors.

When my wife needed the same thing we were able to place the bed side commode over the rv toilet. The commode came with a funnel like device that reached down into the rv commode. This also gave her two armrests to use when getting up. You just need enough room for the legs of the bed side commode to pass along side the regular RV toilet. This saved us from buying a brand new toilet for a tempory problem.

Thanks to both of you for your suggestions...I'll be checking those possibilities out tomorrow.

Which Camping World did you find that display at?? Would love to find one. Even Thetford toilet Conversion Chart does not give enough size measurement info. Would love to find a RV toilet that compares in seat size to the elongated seat toilet that I have in the stick and brick.

But I think the op might like a toilet riser better:

Same situation after my hip replacement 11 weeks ago. Home riser is working fine but am going to need something for the coach in the next few weeks.
Too bad the companies insist on making these commodes to fit a child instead of the average adult. You can always use a step stool for a child easily but it's sure a lot of work making things work for an adult.
Good luck on your search.

Our '96 Pace Arrow had a hgher than normal toilet for an RV because it was mounted on top of the black tank. Our current Newmar is about the same as our home ones which are elevated. I got the home ones for my DW on her anniversary one year and she wanted another the following year. She has had 3 knee replacememts.

I don't mean any disrespect, but this comment made me think of Jake the Peg with the Extra Leg. I first saw this about 30 years ago, and it still makes me smile.

That is what we did and it raises the seat about 5 inches. In my opinion higher than a raised home toilet. Works well.

That was a great skit. I wonder how he did it.
My wife actually had one knee for 10 years and walked enough to wear part of it out. When she had it redone last summer it was the same as a total knee job again.
