Many will suggest Progressive as a starting point. I contacted an independent agent who had multiple carriers to choose from to pick out the most competitive package. Good luck.

Sad to say, time to sell to a good home.

Most car insurance companies also have RV insurance. We went back to Good Sams insurance because they seem to be better equipped to understand the needs of the RV community. Plus when we had to use them several years ago when we totalled out our RV and Expedition...they were totally committed to taking care of us and literally "making us whole".
The lady who assisted us actually showed real compassion, and went way above and beyond our expectations, had an attitude of caring about us. THAT's unusual for any insurance carrier!
We were seriousily considering giving up our RV lifestyle completely, (one near death experience is enough!) but after receiving a brand new RV to replace our smashed one, and more money than we had paid for our tow vehicle...(we got a hot SMOKING deal at the Ford dealer!) we bought a full sized Ford Diesel crewcab and our 7th new!
And joined this Forum in 2004. The rest is history!
Note-We briefly had Progressive and then State Farm...but dumped them for Good Sams once again.
My posts shouldn't be taken for factual data. They are purely fictional, for entertainment purposes and should not be constituted as actually related to scientific, technical, engineering, legal, spiritual or practical advice. Amen.

Buying insurance for anything is really a******shoot, especially for an RV which depreciates in value very rapidly. You will have to decide what is more important to you, the annual cost of the insurance, or the benefit of being able to replace your unit. I could pay less than I am paying now for insurance, but I valued the provision in my current policy that insures the RV (5th wheel toy hauler) for its replacement value, not the "blue book" value. In other words, if my trailer is totaled in the first 5 years I own it, I get what it would cost me to replace that trailer. Not all insurace policies provide that benefit.
I have a Camping World policy through GMAC that includes all my vehicles. My home owners carrier could insure my vehicles, including my RV for about $200 a year less than I am paying GMAC, but the coverage, especially on the 5er is a lot less. What is more important to you?

If you store your RV, be sure to check GMAC.

Also see how long the replacement value is for. When I got a Good Sam GMAC quote the policy went to book value after 5 years so I went with another company.

Get a quote from the aarp RV insurance. We’ve been insured through them for a little over 4 years now and so far it’s all been good. You can add unlimited coverage for $40 which means you’ll be paid for all your towing bills irrespective of the cost.
