I have a 97 HR Imperial with a Cummins C8.3l engine and I am getting ready to replace all of my cooling system hoses. Any recomendations as to what hoses to use? Where to get them? Pricing? etc!
Thanks

I got mine from Spartan as they built the chassis and knew what was used in the build. Price was not to bad.

I'm just completing a cooling system overhaul. The custom shaped hoses I got from Freightliner. I got silicone hoses for the straight sections. They're much easier to work with and withstand temperatures very well. Evco or Hose and Rubber Supply.

I also put in constant pressure clamps where possible. They are expensive but I hope the heating and cooling cycles will not result in small leaks.

I went on line and found a company that sold silicon hoses. They had straight sections and 90's. I calculated what I needed and was able to replace all of the hoses with the pieces I ordered. Most large MH engines don't use any weird shaped/turned hoses. A 90 degree turn will be sufficient for most connections.

Ok, what about the heater hoses. Has anyone replaced those? Do the rubber heater hoses go the entire length of the chassis or do they use a pipe and just stub out the ends with hose? I haven't looked under mine yet to find out. Will probably do that this weekend.

On my coach the heater hoses run the full length of the chassis. They are clamped to the frame rails and are in accessible in some spots. Plus Gulf Stream foamed them in where they enter the basement storage boxes. I tried to get Spartan to change them while I had it in for some other work and they ran out of time and I could not stick around. I hope they never start leaking in the basement area. I understand on the newer coach chassis they are now run in a conduit for easy change out. Good Luck, Ed
