I need a decent campground with full hookups around Custer SD. We like to have some kind of privacy between sites and clean bathrooms. We also need the campground to be pet friendly. Thanks for any information you can give me.

Custer State Park has elec hookups, water and a dump station at Game Lodge campground, but make your reservations as early as you can. The bathrooms are very clean, the sites are fairly large.
The rv parks around the town of Custer are all ok. We like Ft. Welikit..well shaded, etc.

Another vote for Game Lodge in Custer SP. Get reservations now. We are staying at Broken Arrow later this summer - it gets good reviews - owner was very helpful when we were making the reservation. But, I don't think there is lots of shade? We have also used Rafter J, very popular and pricey -

We are at Custers Gulch now and it is very nice. Don't know the details but all the RV parks we see, and we drove through several yesterday, look nice, well maintained etc,

Another vote for Custer's Gulch. Nice quiet campground with plenty of space.

We like Broken Arrow. Full hookups are not available in CSP and privacy between campsites are is rare in the commercial CGs in the area. This has become more of a destination area than it used to be (i.e. an overnite while enroute to Yellowstone) and the CG owners have realized this, adding more spaces and increasing income.
IF you can get by with just electric there are some large campsites in Stockade Lake North with electric only that offer a more secluded atmosphere. CSP is sorely lacking in dump stations however. Unless another has been added since we hosted there a couple or three years ago, you would have to go back across the mountain to dump at Game Lodge if you stayed on the west side of the park. There was a dump station in the Town of Custer at the 'truck stop' you could use if you were headed west. Fill up and it was free, couple of bucks if you didn't.

We really liked Big Pine Campground. The sites are large and the bathrooms are super clean. I think they have full hook-ups, also. They don't have a pool, however.

We have stayed at Beaver Lake CG just west of Custer (about 3 miles) on Hwy. 16. It's an easy ride into town, straight thru to Custer State Park, or north to Mt. Rushmore etc., or south to Hot Springs. Also, Jewel Cave State Park is not too far further west of the cg.

It's a nice setting, there is a pool, they are pet and family friendly. The only sort-of negative thing is there are tons of rabbits in camp, they're cute but if you have a hound dog like us the nightly walk can be a bit of a challenge.

You might want to ask them for a site recommendation, some sites are very spread out and others are closer together, terraced on a hill.

We stayed at Beaver Lake last year and it was quite good. When reserving just ask for a more private site. They were able to accomodate us nicely.
