I am in the middle of a trip and so far mileage after 500 miles is 8.2 mpg with a 10,000lb trailer loaded in my signature. I use tow haul mode and let it do its thing. Plenty of power and no problems. Occasional the rpm's will go to 4000 or so but on the hills it's expected. I was averaging 62 mph on the highways (350 miles aprx.) and 50 mph on secondary roads.

You just sold me on more than enough reason to purchase another diesel in the future and not consider going back to a gas engine.

I am glad you are haveing a good trip, but I would have thought ford would have did a little better on the towing mpg. I was thinking about going gas next time. I guess I will have to stick with my 6.4 psd I get 14+ towing 8500 tt and a golfcart in the bed.

Is your truck deleted or stock? That's seems almost too good. I don't think 8.2 on gas is that bad. My 6.7 only gets about 3 mpg better than that towing about 10k. Plus diesel in my neck of the woods is still about 50 cents a gallon more.

Nice. I hear those 6.4's make awful nice trucks with all the junk taken off them.

My friend towed my TT for a guys weekend of camping and ATV riding. He has a 2012 Siverado 3500 DRW, Duramax/Allison. He was getting 12.2mpg effortlessly towing at 72mpg. I will be pleased if I get 9mpg towing the same with my 6.0L.

That's good to know, I'm waiting on my work 2012 6.2 to show up. I don't average that with my V10. I would rather have a gas engine and get worse mileage than have a diesel and have to pay for the repairs.

Yup, that's what I get towing with the same truck...no complaints.
