On a recent camping trip, the alarm started beeping and hasn't stopped since except when I disconnect the power supply. House batteries check good, smoke alarm battery is good. My carbon monoxide detector is hard-wired into 12v, no battery.
Suggestions as to cause and solution?

Assuming you've turned off your propane tank and aired out the coach, unplugged and reset - likely a bad unit. Replace (I got mine at Camping World, but other places carry them). They should be replaced every 5 years or so, I got 8 out of mine.

our Carbon Monoxide detector did that and it was bad. Had to replace it. We replaced the smoke detector at the same time and got a combo unit at Home Depot. Is the beeping from the LPG or CO2 detector?

If it's over three years old it may need to be replaced. They have a short life-span.

Ditto all the above...got one and a half years from the LP detector in my first trailer...would sound the alarm in the middle of the night.

I have since unplugged the LP detectors in that and every trailer since, while they are parked at home, in hopes that this prolongs their lifespan. So that I do not forget to power it back up, I leave the breaker panel on the floor with the fuse for the detector lying on the cover.

Thanks much for the replies. Looks like a replacement is in order. Same thing happened in the Class A gasser I had, but I never thought the unit could be bad.

I have very carefully checked for propane leaks. It could also beep for all kinds of ambient vapors; however, if that were the cause, those vapors would soon dissipate.

Look at the LED on the front. Green is good, red is alarm and orn/yellow means it needs replacement.

Was it a rapid beep, or a constant screech, or beep, long pause, beep, long pause.

Each pattern means something different. (The last one is usually some kind of system error not necessary but including low battery power)

You need the manual to figure out what the beep pattern is telling you.. Save for rapid constant or near constant, that's GET OUT OF HERE.
