My wife and I have camped several times at Elk Meadows. It is a nice campground with good facilities. The last time was 2 years ago. Spruce Lake is more crowded with sites appearing much closer. Have not stayed there but you drive by it every day. The two campgrounds are owned by the same people as well as two more in Golden and Loveland. There is also a Jellystone camp down Hywy 36 two or three miles out of Estes Park. They cater to families with children. I would suggest Elk Meadow from my experience. Also as you drive back into town, at the intersection with the traffic light, is The Other Side restaurant which my whole loves. Have a nice

We stayed at the Spruce Lake RV Park in Estes Park, Colorado. It could have used more trees and grass. It had a nice fishing pond, a pool, and playground. On the Labor Day weekend they had a pancake breakfast, ice cream social, and entertainment in the afternoon or evening. It was very close to the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. The town of Estes Park is a beautiful tourist town with some great shops and places to eat. Have a great trip.

Unfortunately, Elk Meadows has gone downhill. We were there last fall, and it was less than pleasant. Interior roads are in bad repair and sites need upgrading. The front entrance/office area is nice and puts on a ggod show, but the rest of the cg needs help. A couple of years ago when we first visited there, it was a different story.
We will be staying at Jellystone this year, and looking forward to it!
