The commercial T/A's weigh 20 lbs each. Found four @ $794 installed.

The XPS Rib's weigh 56 lbs each. Haven't really seriously considered these until I saw the weight. Wow, But the Max Load is the same at 3042??

A 16" tire that weighs 20lbs??? Uh no.
The ribs are heavier because they more steel belts in the tire than the T/A's, hence a stronger tire.

I've done a lot of research on this. And gotten lots of great forum recommendations/information.

I recommend at a minimum, a commercial grade LT tire, like any of the fleet tires. Its rated specs must fall within the GVWR limits of your th/axles... within reason. My TH had trailer tires with 3500lb rating on my 6000lbs+ (3)axle TH. The TH GVWR is 13,000lb. So my logic is, my TH, even overloaded, will never get over 15,000lbs. Well within the 3042lbs LT tires I have now giving me a 18,252lb total max load tire rating.

Michelin XPS Rib, Bridgestone Duravis m895, Commercial TA, Firestone HT are all fleet type commercial grade tires.
Obviously the Ribs or Duravis are the strongest, being a total steel belt/carcass tire. But their price reflects that. If you have only 2 axles then I would go with the more expensive Ribs/Duravis vs the fiber belt/carcass tires.

I went with the 235/85 16e Commercial TA all season for my 13,000gvw 3 axle th. So far seems like a big upgrade from the trailer china bombs.
What is your 2 axle TH gvw ?

I have the BFG Comm T/A's on my RAM 3500 CTD DRW and they need replacing with only 25k on them.

I'm going with TOYO Open Country H/T Tuff Duty this next time.

I have them on my trailer right now, all eight of them!

The Toyo OC H/T Tuff Duty is another option of the 3 ply fabric sidewall tires on the market in a common trailer size for 6K axles. It usually runs a little more money than the Nitto DuraGrappler or Yokohama HT/s G053.

You might also look at Hankook Dynapro AS tires. Those that are using them like them a lot and the prices are generally pretty good.

Those do have a nice price. I dont really need the mileage because I dont travel much. But I do want dependable tough tires..

Where are you finding prices under $250 per?

Cooper SRM II

I'm also looking at not spending a bundle since I only tow maybe twice a year and as guest quarters the rest. You can get the American made Coopers for $776 a set of 5, shipped, plus your install cost. I hear really good things about them.

My mechanic has sold me at least 12 coopers for my daily drivers and Iv been happy.. But how do the Coopers compare to the BFG commercial T/A's? I would save $70 with coopers which isn't worth it unless they are a better tire..

I have the HanKook AS tire on my toyhauler. Hankook has a strong reputation out here. Good tires, decent pricing.
