You would need a donut if their sewer connection does not have threads to screw your Rhino into. Would be a good idea to carry one as some places do not have threads to screw the Rhino into.

I bought one...just because some parks "require" a donut...

But, I've never even taken it out of the wrapper. My Rhinoflex Hose Kit comes with the sewer hose adapter. It's 10x better than a silly donut.

The way I envision the dounut to work is... If you only have a cheapy sewer hose...like the one that came with our "starter kit"... It's basically just a hose and has the bayonet lugs on one end to connect to the camper. The other end, I suppose, people just shove down the sewer pipe. If the local sanitation authority requires it...I guess you're supposed to shove the loose end of the hose thru the hole in the donut...and wedge the donut into the sewer pipe. It's a pretty weak system...but I guess It's acknowledged as being better than a loose hose end alone...

Besides the tight fit at the sewer, a donut or threaded connector would also keep those loose sewer hose ends from ending up in the sewer system. Probably doesn't happen often but I have seen a sewer cleanout company pull out sections of sewer hose.

I have the same sewer hose you do. It will fit fine in almost every dump pipe you encounter. Even if the pipe is not threaded, it will almost always fit tight enough to keep odors from coming out.
But there will be the rare occasion when for some reason it will not fit tight. Then you will need a donut to fit over the small end of the sewer hose connector and then into the dump pipe to seal properly. So it is good to have one just in case. They are cheap.
Some people simply drop the end of their hose into the dump pipe leaving a lot of air space around it for odors to come out. That is why many (most?) parks require a donut in their rules. But I never use a donut unless necessary and have never been questioned about my Rhino hose when it fits tightly in their dump pipe without a donut.

We have the Rhino and all the parks we're been to require a screw in fitting which give a positive lock and hard to kick out.

Thanks. Is there another word for it? Instead of a donut? I tried to find it at the local Wally World but they didn't have it. I might just get it from Amazon, but only found ONE style and it had 1 star. We are leaving Saturay, so we kinda need one!

Thanks!
