I have a 2000 pace arrow with the ford engine and transmission(I believe). I'm looking to put a transmission temp gauge on it for my month long trip. Any suggestions out there? It has 30k miles on it. Should I change the transmission oil too?

Try looking at "scan gauge" it does many things including temps.

I installed a Scan Guare II for just that purpose on my 2000 Fleetwood Storm with the F53 and V10. I have it set to give me the trans, engine temps and charging volts. It is easy to install and works out of the box with no problems. YES change the trans fluid.

If you want to buy a little extra insurance for your transmission when you change fluid replace it with synthetic. Castrol Transyn is the most commonly used. Look for "Meets TES-295 spec" on the container.

Scan Guage looks like a great product but is not for the OP's year of motorhome.

on edit: sorry! I was out by ten years!

I've had mine installed on my 2000 Winnabago for over 18 months. I would like to hear from you as to your reasons for this comment, which is entirely false. We just returned from a trip from CA to MO, gave me all kinds of info along the way.
It even works on my 1995 Avalon.

Scangage works with an OBDII connector. 2000 has OBDII. Works on my '99. It's pretty accurate telling your mpg, too.
