Long time American league hockey tough guy ( 13 years ) , went on to coach in the NHL, Boston, and Denver. In the Bobby Orr era.
All ways known for his outspoken opinions about hockey and life in Canada, in general. A guy who has the most amazing collection of "loud suits" and ties.
Beyond his bombastic voice, he is a very smart hockey guy, who has a weekly spot on the Saturday night CBC hockey broadcast, on "Hockey night in Canada " called Coaches Corner.
He has a opinion on just about everything, and he is worth listening to, to find out what is really going on in the NHL, and in Canada.
He is a very staunch supporter of what he calls "The Real Canadian Heros " our military men and women, and the cops, firefighters and ems paramedics, who help to keep us all safe. Never one to keep his pont of view under his hat, he calls em as he sees them, no matter who he "offends ".
He also points out just how many Canadians are on EACH NHL team, and in the case of the Los Angles Kings that was 14 out of 22 players, who just won the Stanley Cup, in June.
He should get the Order Of Canada, in my humble opinion. Never happen though, as he is too "outspoken " for the lefties that make that selection, yearly.
One of the really unique people, in Canada. As he says about those that he respects ......... " God love him ".
