What is the best route from Pigeon Forge, TN to Orlando, FL in a 32' Class A Motorhome towing? I am fairly new to the RV world and the Smoky Mountains scare me.
Just upgraded to a diesel but have gone over the eastern mountains several times with our gasser pulling a toad. Should be no problem if you stick to the interstates.

I would not feel comfortable going over the mountain with the trailer and since the highway is no issue that is our choice.

P.S. Which campground are you going to be at? We love the area!!!
We are staying at Riverside RV park in Pigeon Forge and at camp Wilderness in Orlando. We have a granddaughter playing volleyball at the sports complex in Disney. Thanks for your help!
Tomgmoore - Are you staying at Riverside RV Park and Resort in Sevierville just off I40 or Riveredge RV Park in Pigeon Forge. We havent stayed at the Riverside RV Park before. The Riveredge RV Park in Pigeon Forge is one of our favorite places to stay when we want to get in the middle of the shopping day and night runs up and down the main road at Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.
If it is Riveredge RV Park take a look at the paved road up the hill behind the park where there are more smaller sites that overlooks the RV park. We always manage to get our POPUP up there with doing some backing-in for a couple hundred of feet haha...We also have stayed in Riveregde log cabins many times too. great log cabins...
We have made the run from I40 to I26 in Ashville then run on into Charleston SC for business trips pulling out POPUP. I26 will intersect I95 50miles west of Charleston SC.
Have also gone over the mountain at Gatlinburg and gone thru Cherokee, Waynesville, Brevard and picked up the I26 at Hendersonville NC but that is truly a mountain road..
I guess you will want to go for I75 to get to Orlando. Best way for that is get back on I40 I reckon and go thru Knoxville and pick up I75 just west of Knoxville and run down thru CHattanooga, ugg Atlanta, Macon, down too just west of Orlando.
From Riveredge you can can also cut out the Knoxville loop and not go thru too bad a couple of winding roads by taking US321 out of Pigeon Forge, down thru Townsends, Marysville, and pick up I75 at Lenoir City. Only a few winding curves just outside of Pigeon Forge then good sailing the rest of the way to I75. Got a couple more long grade hills before you hit Chattanooga but all interstate so no problem. Be sure to watch good for the I75 exit at Chattanooga as a couple of major roads all come together there... Good signs but pay attention or you might end up in Nashville haha...
