Is the problem navistar is having with NOx epa requirements with all their diesel engines or just the the large 13 liter engine?

Having been following Navistar, cause we are really interested in there new Diplomat with the Maxxforce 10. Haven't been able to find a lot of issues with the 10, the 13 does seem to be giving them some real grief though.

Would be interested in hearing of problems with the 10

Here's an interesting link for you.

Navistar problem

Nothing is either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.

Navistar problem

Have been following that on IRV2, he's definitely having a problem that they are having a hard time trying to correct, but it also does not seem to be a widespread problem and this is with a MaxxForce 7 engine.

While the article talks about a fund management firm taking a large interest in Navistar, there is comment pertaining to emmission exemption granted to Navistar. Looks like more problems, since they are the only firm not going the DEF route to curb emmissions.

Here is another article EPA probing Navistar diesel-engine production.
EPA says fines could be as much as $285 million

http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/02/16/navistar-engines-idUSL2E8DGBY920120216

Another article http://www.dailyfinance.com/2012/03/15/no-claims-on-navistar/

None of which sounds positive.
