Custer, SD has a car wash at the east end of town and it has a little enclosed dog washing room with table, spray, soaps, etc. I think the price was $5.00 for 15-20 minutes. For a small dog, not too dirty, it was plenty of time.

Are there any more dog washes out there? I found some do it yourself places in San Antonio, but they're at pet stores, not car washes. (more convenient)

We have a couple here in Bakersfield. $14 for the wash, no time limit unless you rent clippers.
We have modified our hallway bathroom to accomodate a raised tub for the dogs, and I usually groom everyone at home, but I have used the self-serve a couple of times when I just didn't have the time to clean up the mess afterward, or once when I needed Buddy to look really good for a photo shoot, since they have dryers and I don't.

We have a Cars and Canines about a mile from our house. Same set-up as you describe. I've never used it because I don't find bathing mine at home to be a problem at all, but I went in and looked around once. It seemed like a good option for those who want to do it themselves but for whatever reasons can't or don't want to do it at home.

I've seen them in every place we have lived. Some are in carwashes, some are privately owned/part of a grooming facility, and I've even seen them in PetsMarts/PetCo's.

Bathing a dog is a raised tub and being able to use a force-air dryer is DEFINITELY worth it! Way easier than bending over a bathtub at home! And you don't have to worry about dog hair clogging your drains!

You can buy a forced air dryer for less than $100. Mine is several years old and still going strong. Well worth the money IMO.

Sorry, it is a "self serve" pet wash, not automatic. It is right next to the automatic car wash at a Shell gas station and the signs kind of run together, my mistake.

We have one at a farm supply store about 15 miles from us in Plant City, FL.
Well worth the 5.00 to bathe, dry and groom. Nice stainless steele tubs with walk-up ramps for larger fur kids. Nice to know there are more around the country.
