I have freightliner do a complete PM on my coach every year......oil, filters, ride height, belts, ect....I believe it is about a 40-50 point check list. The most I've ever paid is $1,100 and that was with a LOT of things being done including a generator service.

I then take the coach to the dealer to simply inspect the roof seals, windows, bay doors, aqua hot maintenance and that total is just over $350.....Don't do it....

Don't know why you are including appliances unless there is a problem.

Why have an annual service at the Factory? You could not do that with your Ford or Jeep.

Their focus is manufacturing of new rigs and correction of manufacturing failures.

One should expect routine service and inspection to be very expensive because they do not want to do it.

Wow. I don't know if he will heed advice. But, I sure will. I wrote it all down. I've been to gullible and took my RV to high priced RV mechanics. I could of saved a bunch of money last yr. If I had known about this forum and listened to the advice here. The voice of experience. Thanks

I agree with using Speedco. They are relatively in expensive and they do a very good job. An annual on my Safari with the CAT 3126 fits under their Medium Duty PM. Even with an up-charge for a CAT secondary filter (they normally use Fleetguard and I accept that for the primary). Then I went to the truck tire shop that sold me tires and had a front-end alignment an, d then let Blue Beacon give my coach a bath and Rain-X spray for $50.

Next week I go to a local RV Repair shop to have a few things done - fix the furnace which won't ignite (the coach was parked for 18 months while I recovered from a medical issue) at the same time I'll probably have a water heater by-pass installed.

I had my chassis serviced by Rush Trucks in Yuma the last M-3. Cost $1200.00, all fluids. Sounds high what you got quoted. $300.00 for M-1 Lube, oil change w/filters (oil and Fuel). Also had Freightliner in Gaffney do the M-3 before at about the same price, a little less I think. When you add all the appliances, sounds like it could be close. I try to do the other stuff myself.

My local RV dealer gets $150 to do a top to bottom check out. This is a check out and not a repair. Like another poster stated if your AC, furnace, stove etc. works why check it. Should like someone is taking you down the road.
