We light the fridge on propane the night before we head out so it gets cold. Load it up and head down the road

After the regulator the propane lines are about 0.5 psi.

I don't travel with the gas turned on.
I find there is no need to, and I have read on a couple of occasions where a line gets ruptured in an accident, and the rig catches fire.
I would rather be safe than sorry.

If I wasn't going to travel with the refrigerator on and working, I would be better off financially having a tent and an ice chest. I have it and I use it like it was designed to be used.

We have never turned ours off, in either TC or TT when traveling. Like mentioned above...if we didn't feel it was safe we would not run it at all.

They are meant to be run while traveling. It's best to shut off the fridge before fueling, however.

If you have a Norcold refrigerator, you might want to check the latest recall lists.

Can't think of ANYTHING that doesn't produce SOME fear of fire. Heck your gasoline is VERY flammable.

Our fridge gets turned on the day before we leave, and turned off day after we return home. Only exception is specially posted tunnels. No troubles yet in over 100,000 miles.

If my rig is hit hard enough for the thing to catch on fire, I want it to burn to the ground so there is no doubt that it's totaled and the insurance can take care of it.

Sheesh...there are cars that drive on LPG or CNG. The tow rig runs on a flammable liquid. I can thing of many other things to worry about.

Fears of using RV appliances while going down the road are irrational fears.
