I just bought a 2003 Country Coach Intrigue. I was checking the operation of the air conditioners before taking my first trip. I set the Duo Therm control to "cool" for both zone 1 and 2, adjusted the temperature to 70, and fan to auto. The air conditioners cycled and blew cold air but only for a short time and the coach remained very warm even after several hours. I tried toggling the control off and on a few times and turned the circuit breakers on and off as well.

I read in the instruction book about resetting the Duo Therm by turning it off, then holding the top and bottom buttons while toggling it to on. "FF" is supposed to show on the monitor, which it did. When I let go of the top and bottom buttons, however, it displayed "EE" instead of the main screen. I turned the unit on and off a couple times and did the circuit breakers again. The monitor still displays "EE". How can I get it to return to the main screen? Any idea why the A/Cs don't stay running long enough to cool the coach?

Find the DC fuse for the control and pull it. After you put it back in, the EE should disappear and the control will be fully reset.

I believe The Texan has the correct answer. However, should this not fix the problem check to see if you have any defective fluorescent light ballasts. Drove me crazy when it happened to me.

A RESET on a Dometic wall CCC tstat does NOT do anything for operational problems. Doing a reset does NOT reboot like a computer. ALL a Dometic reset does is verify the settings on each AC control board, nothing else. Your likely problem is corrosion at the quick connects where the phone type communication cables connect. If you have Penguin model AC's then the corrosion/short is probably at the evaporator area where the cables connect. You need to take both top evap covers OFF and inspect the modular cable connections. EE is a communication error code. Doug

I tried turning off the fluorescent lights as PandK suggested and not only did the Duo Therm control return to the main screen, but the A/C is working again. Pulling the fuse without turning off the lights didn't work. Not sure what the fluorescent light ballast is, though. Do you just have to change the ballast or the whole light fixture.

A million thanks for the tip.

EACH light has a ballast. What you need to do is turn on each light individually until the wall tstat malfunctions, then replace that light. You can replace the ballast but that is more technical than some can do and replacing the light fixture is easiest. I have NEVER seen a Light fixture cause a Dometic wall CCC problem. Hopefully the light fixture is your problem. Doug
