Looking at getting a class c. would like to know how many of you tow a boat, and also launch it with your class C. Looking at about a 29 to 30ft RV. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

We pull/launch a 19' bay boat w/115hp outboard with no major issues. Before getting bay boat, we also pulled/launched a heavier 20' bow rider with v-8 I/O.

One issue I've ever had was making u-turn to get lined up for backing down ramp at this one particular campground. I have to make a 3 point turn. First time I went too far around turn and kept almost jack-knifing trailer trying to back-up. Now, I make about 1/2 turn and make sure camper & trailer straight with each other before backing backing so I can push trailer to outside of turn. Hope that makes sense.

Some like to put a hitch on the front and use it to launch with.
I added bicycle flags to our boat trailer to make it wider, so I could it with the mirrors.

Once you have tried the front hitch with a wide TV such as a Class C you will never go back to backing a boat trailer. If you are on a crowded boat ramp you will understand the use of a front hitch.

Never had a front hitch, are they easy to have installed, and are they really worth having. Sounds like the way to go.

I put a front hitch on my E350 MH in about 45min. It just bolted on.

I use it to carry a bike rack if the rear hitch is pulling a toad. Very handy.

Add a rear view camera and it is a piece of cake.

Our MH came with camera and I couldn't launch without it! It also has a mic with in-cab speaker. That's great so I can hear DW guiding me back and she doesn't have to scream.

Thanks for all the responses. The unit I have does have the rear camera and monitor installed, so that is good. Was also wondering if the boat ramps have ever been to steep to use the class c to launch the boat?

With about 2/3 of the vehicle weight over the drive wheels I doubt you can find a 2WD vehicle with better traction on a boat ramp. Being on a grade transfers even more weight, assuming you are backing down the ramp. I've never launched a boat with my motorhome, but my driveway is around a 23% grade. Wet, dry or even a little icy I've never spun a wheel towing a 2700 lb. car up the driveway so I doubt a boat launch would be any trouble as long as it was not soft or rutted.
