Update on the daily driver... Set of 6 sixteen inch 215/85/16 replaced old 16.5's and what a difference! The 440 never had no shoes to fit right till now! She responded bigtime and now i feel safe and worry free on highway..Now I am trying to calculate every drop of fuel to ensure I get my 9-10 miles a gallon! Does a fuel filter before pump and after affect fuel delivery when hot? Or cold? Trying to keep fuel line cool and insulated but still get surges that are unpredictable... Thanks for any help.. 440boltmaniac..

It never hurts to replace the fuel filters, but are you sure that the surges are vapor lock? If they are, on my Winnie with a 413 I re-routed the fuel line to the other side of the frame rail. That protected it from the heat of the exhaust manifold. You could also try an electric fuel pump. I looked at one from NAPA that came with an anti-vapor lock kit of some kind, but never tried it. I'll see if I can find it. Is your carb running OK? My HR is great, but sometimes I miss MOPAR.
