I have a Cardinal with factory full body paint. The clear coating must be 3 or 4 layers. I cannot feel a separation from one color to another. This is an extremely important consideration as scratching can be rubbed out when you have heavy quality layers of clear coat. It also protects against fading. When looking at full body paint, FW or Motor Home, rub your hands on the paint, if you feel the line of separation from colors, it is a sign the clear coat is not heavy and will fail. Full body paint is expensive to buy and expensive to maintain, but it sure looks good.

We had our 1996 38' Carriage totally redone by Precision Paintingin Breman, Indiana. They did a great job. Everyone who sees it thinks it is brand new. They took about 5 weeks to do the job but we also had some interior work done by them while we were there.
Our paint job started at $14,500.00 but we fell in love with the pearl paint which upped it to $17,000.00. There are no decals to peel as they are all painted on and everything was topped with 3 coats of clean. We loved the layout of our Carriage and it was in great shape inside and out and well taken care of so for us it was an easy decision to spend just under $30,000.00 to have her completely updated inside and out. We feel we're good to go for another 16 years on the road.
We compared the cost of doing what we did to spending a boatload of money on something new that we really didn't like and felt the quality was lacking a bit.
This may not be for everyone but it worked just great for us. Diana

Has anyone had just the decal striping painted on? I was wondering where to go to look and about how much that would be.

Not to highjack the thread, but has anyone priced out a wrap, as opposed to paint or decals? I'd love to be able to order a "snowball" and add my own, minimal, graphics.

When I looked into it they quoted me between $10 & $12K for a 32ft 5er. Previous to the 5er in my sig, I had a Forest River Blue Ridge (full body paint)POS, and I must tell you while I loved the paint job, I did notice the interior of the unit got hotter than other white finish units I've had.

Um, do you mean you painted the Blue Ridge yourself? I wasn't aware FR offered a full body paint option on the Blue Ridge line.....

No 45ACP, the 2011 Blue Ridge came from the factory with a brown full body paint job. I was talking about my ne 5er.

I love the looks of our 2013 Landmark Chocolate Full Body Paint. We just spent 2 weeks at Myrtle Beach Travel Park and everyone that walked by commented on how pretty the 5th wheel was. I did not notice it being any harder to cool than our previous White Montana. I do not have to worry about decals peeling and it is much easier to keep clean.

If I am not mistaking the Blue Ridge is not a Full Body Paint it is Colored Gel Coat.
