Can I use a regular light switch like I have in the house for a replacement in my camper? My switches keep breaking and I need a more durable solution. Thanks, Keith

For AC or DC battery lights? If it is for DC, make sure it is rated for DC use. Even if it isn't rated, it will work, it just won't last long.

It's the porch, scare, and overhead lights. Basically the main switches when you enter the camper.

Yes you can if it will physically fit.

Do you use a hammer to turn them on and off?

My kids will sit there and play with them. I was thinking of cutting a remodel electrical box and wiring with the new toggle switches. Hopefully i can get a shallow box to fit. Thanks for your responses!

The lights are 12 volts so a box for the switch is not required but put some electrical tape around the screws.

I have installed several of them in 12v DC circuits and they have lasted several years, so far.

I can't imagine how the kids break them (mine have been turned on and off thousands of times), but you can get replacement RV switches pretty cheap on ebay (singles, doubles, groups of 3).
