This seems like a simple question but I keep getting different answers from Dish tv.
Can I use the VIP222K duel reciever when using the Dish Pay as you go program? I don't know why Dish makes it so hard to learn about this program.

From what I've found out...yes. If you have that receiver already in your house you can buy a dish with a tripod, take that receiver with you and get Dish for no additional cost. Once you leave the "local area" (about 200 miles) you will need to subscribe to a pay as you go to get locals. If you don't care about locals you can go free. They have a form you need to fill out stating that you are putting that receiver in an RV and you are ready to go. If you are adding that receiver to your existing account it is a $7 per month 'extra connection" fee. This is the way I understand it after going to the local Dish distributor and speaking with them.

Thanks Bob,
I don't have any home service now. I live in my 5th wheel and thought pay as you go would be a good choice for us. I have just got off the phone with a rep that seemed like he knew the program and he said the duel receiver will not work with the pay as you go. I would have to purchase 2 receivers, can't rent equipment need to buy everything but there would be the $7 fee for the 2nd tv.

Yes, he's right. If you don't currently have service I think you have to have the 211 receiver like they use for the Tailgater. I believe it has a "roaming" feature that lets you get signals in most locations and they can turn on locals by zip code. Check online for receivers. Verify with Dish which one you will need...don't take my word for it. Once you have them, they will activate the "smart card" in them and it will be matched to the serial number of the receiver. Good luck,
Bob

Yes, it's the 211 we will need. I'm waiting until tomorrow to see if I can buy it local for a fair price if not I'll buy online. Thanks for the help.

Yes it will but you won't receive HD channels.

The 211 is a single receiver only not a duel.

You can get HD ( from LA) on a DISH 500 if you have dedicated RV account and DISH DNS service. You can not get locals with the DNS service. Either DNS or locals but not both.
