Our trailer is an 06 Rockwood Roo 21ss with a 7 pin trailer light connector
We recently inherited a 02 Ford F150 and I have an issue matching the trailer light connectors. Our former truck an 04 Dodge 1500 had a 7 pin trailer light connector built into it and our inherited 02 F150 has a 4 pin trailer connector. How or what can I do to marry the Rockwood Roo's 7 pin light connector to the 4 pin F150 connector.
Also, I had to remove our Prodigy brake control from the Dodge and now I will have to reinstall it into the F150. How does that play into the "new" trailer connector for the F150

My old Durango had only a 4-pin connector. I went to a hitch shop and had them install a brake controller and 7-pin connector.

You can buy a 7-pin harness that plugs right into the OEM harness for about $60. Different parts for different cabs/beds, but here is one.
Then add a Ford specific plug and play harness and the appropriate relays under the hood in the distribution box. That is the easiest and cleanest installation.
The bigger issue I would have is transmission cooler. That truck does not have the towing package which includes upgraded trans cooler and the 7-pin wiring. Both my 99 and 03 F-150s had them. I highly recommend a(n upgraded) trans cooler. The 5.4L has one, the tow package has a larger one.

sounds like the F-150 doesn't have the factory tow package, otherwise it would have the 7-pin connector.
you may not have the trans cooler and any controller harness.

i wouldnt worry about the trans cooler with that little trailer. as far as the harness i would go with the plug and play if available and put the 7 pin on it. if you are at all handy it is not hard with a little patience and research

Where the spare tire is (you will have to drop the spare) on the drivers side frame rail is the wire harness connector from the front of the truck to the back. ALL F150's from 97 on are wired for 7 pin from the cab to the back. The difference is what APT explained and all you have to do is buy the 7 pin harness from the frame to the bumper.
Add the proper fuses and relays to the existing fuse box under the hood and you are good to go.
If you have the 5.4, you should already have a smaller aux trans oil cooler.. If it's the 4.6 or the V6, you probably won't have one... That is if you even have an automatic trans?? If you have a stick, you don't have a 5.4 and you will not have much of a 'tow rating' from Ford in that case...
A 21' TT is going to weigh around #5000, so if you do have an auto trans, you WILL want an aux trans cooler, IMO...
