X2--I don't belong to Good Sam for anything more than its camping discounts and those we use often enough to know we are getting our money's worth.

I think you have to be a Good Sam member already to upgrade at that price and fall within one of the caveats (68yrs old, law enforcement, fire fighter, military veteran). At least that is the way I read the email from Marcus, where it states to "Qualifying Good Sam members".

We just use it for the discounts and the monthly magazines. If I could get a LT membership for $150 I would but for me it would be $300 and that's too much.

I am a life member of at least 3 organizations (non-RV). I wish I hadn't spent that money. The only reason I am still a member of them is because I paid up front.

Moral of the story, be sure you're going to stay with the organization long enough to make it worth your dollars.

If I had to pay the $499 or even the $299, I probably wouldn't. But for $149, I couldn't pass it up. That's six years worth of regular price per year. And now the club offers the benefits of the CW presidents club that I paid extra for before.

Anybody got a list beside Campiing World stores?
