I have 1998 tradition do. I put 6 new good years and had them balanced at purchase. Over 65 mph a low frequency vibration starts and is felt throughout the rv. As you approach 70 it gets noisy and my daughters head is bouncing while laying on couch. I have also noticed that the rear bags seem to running between 55 and 75 psi according to the gauge, but I hear no noise and can't see any difference in the ride height. I have the rv in shop at freight liner of augusta and am awaiting a prognosis. Any advise or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks again for everybody's time and help

Would question that you have a pressure gauge for rear air bags.

Sounds like you may have an air system issue.

And if ride height/suspension is OK, on front tires:

Start by checking for run-out. If over .035" get it corrected. THEN balance them ON THE COACH. That insures that ALL rotating masses are in balance.

Sounds like an air system issue for sure IMHO.

Rear Gauge on my 98 (same chassis) stays in the 110-130 area. Usually stays at 130 when I am rolling down the Interstate and not using the air brakes.

Brett is the master on these things and I am sure he is pointing you in the right direction.

Sounds like a classic tire balance or roundness problem. I've had several tire guys insist that if it balances, it should ride OK. They couldn't understand that you can balance a triangle, but it won't ride right. Have them check both balance and runout.

the freightliner dealer in augusta told me I needed new shocks, drag tie rods, wheel bearings, knuckle bearings, and such to the exent of $4400. and that the rear bags was a faulty guage. seems extensive to me on a coach with only 60000 miles on it.

Jeremy,

The only way you would have that much stuff wrong is if the front end had not been lubed as it should have been.

Sure, if driven in water and never greased, they could all be bad.

Best advice is to take it to a shop specializing in aligning over the road trucks for a second opinion.
