I got a recall notice from a major RV appliance manufacturer in the mail the a few weeks ago.

Most of us know that certain municipalities or states may require registration of a TC; mine does not.

Any and all RV's I have ever owned were truck campers only and they were all purchased as used; one was from a re-seller (not a dealer) but it was not bought brand new... and it was purchased out of state over 2 years ago.

My TC insurance company has my mailing address information.

I can think of no other party being privileged to legally know that I own a TC. How in the hell does a business which is sending me a recall notice know I have a truck camper... let alone one that may be subject to a recall.

I will most likely follow through with any procedures should my appliance fall within the criteria of needing modifications... but how does this certain company know I may own one of their products....hmmm?

My guess is your insurance company gave them the info --- considering you don't have to have it licensed thru the state, etc. I'd be glad they did it, too!

Good guess, insurance company

Or the original owner got a recall and gave your info to the mfgr so mfgr could contact you.

This is the most likely scenario. He most likely returned the recall form to the manufacturer with your information. There is a space on the form for new owner info....

I would go along with this. The recall is on an RV appliancce, not on your TC. The appliance manufacture only knows, probably from the previous owner, that you now are the owner of a recalled appliace that is in some kind of RV. They could care less if it is a TC, a TT, a5er, ora MH. Just be glad that they issued you a recall and that they are probably going to repair something in that recalled appliance. My guess it is a recall for a refridgerator. Get it fixed on their dime is my suggestion

If you google street map my house Im up on the camper when I was replaceing the roof, guess Im glad wasnt scratchin my backside. Change the angle a bit-if you look over my head you can zoom in my neighbors 2 story home, side upstairs door is open... My truck, parked in the street you can zoom in the window and see everthing on the seat.
Or the generic tinfoil..just doesnt quite work as well as Renolds wrap.

But Im a bit curious-camper was purchased used from a 'reseller', Im not seeing the follow thru on the registration of appliances by the original owner?

My thoughts too I am not seeing the connection either.

The 'reseller' is a legit business that deals with vehicles and RV's (among other items) purchased as bank repo's and auction sales. There is at least one step removed between the business I purchased it from and the original owner.
