It helps keep out the other noises from the campground but when your outside I can barely hear it running. I also need to have some type of noise at night to sleep so I like it or a fan running at all times (camping and at home)

I have been told the 3 speed fan AC is quieter on the lowest speed. But I agree wow they make a lot of noise.
