Well, despite my rather disappointing experience with the Camping World dealer in Statesville, NC, I opted to roll the dice and make a 2nd purchase from Camping World in Savannah, GA last month. That gamble has proven to be a mistake.
Despite having covered the topic of warranty repairs and having said repairs performed specifically in the Winchester, VA store with the sales manager, salesman and the service manager in Savannah, the "No problem with that at all" response that I was given before they cashed the check has suddenly become a huge issue. Calls are not getting returned and my camper still does not have an appointment for repair.
These problems are similar to those I experienced with Statesville, NC. I have a call in to Keystone to try to find an alternative solution to getting my warranty work performed and I'll likely demand a refund on my extended warranty, since it seems likely that Camping World will be as disinclined to honor it as they have been to honor their other obligations.
In short, my opinion is that, if you're considering a purchase via Camping World, you should be aware that they do not stand behind their sales and they do not honor their word. If you're comfortable with dealing with problems on your own, you're golden. If you want service, then you're going to have headaches dealing with them.
If I had it to do all over again, I'd have gone somewhere else. This has really taken away the shine and excitement of a new coach. YMMV.

Sorry you had such a bad experience -- twice. We've had warranty work done here on the west coast and have had NO problems....no matter which one we go to.
What, exactly is needing to be repaired? I have never had a problem getting a service appointment at a Camping World and never really had the need to have them call me back. Is it possible the repair is something they can not/do not handle in their shop? Unlike automobile dealerships, RV dealers are often not one stop repair places. Body work, engine work, chassis work and many other items need to be repaired at specialized facilities.

No one needs this kind of grief...but, keep in mind that it's the extended warranty company, not Camping World that will (and usually does) decline your claim.
Good luck with it all.

Service does seem to vary a lot with the store. Our experience at the Nashville store was totally awful and put us off CW for years. HOWEVER, we had excellent service at the Anthony, TX, store last October! We were passing through, stopped at the Visitor's center across the hwy from CW. I called them late Sun afternoon and asked if they had a vented Splendide in stock - which they did - and if we could get it installed the next day. They made an appt for 8:30 AM. At 7:30 AM they called to tell us they had a cancellation if we could come on in, they could get it installed right away. Which we did. In the meantime, we remembered something else that needed looked at so they put that on their list, too. They suggested that the furnace & vent system needed cleaning, which I knew but hadn't thought of, so that got added. Then we added a couple more things - can't remember just what. Long story short, we were there all day, and they were working on things all that time because we wondered in/out to check. The personnel were friendly & helpful and we were very satisfied w/everything. My only complaint was that their only waiting area is a space in the front lobby - a large space with a lot of traffic - and the furniture was not comfortable at all. Oh, there was a nice cg right behind the store where we spent that night.

A handful of fairly minor items except for one, which is a crack in the kitchen sink. Since I specified the Winchester store in my purchase discussions with them, there shouldn't be an issue getting repairs there.
I should have been more detailed in my original post. Their claim is now that Winchester cannot do the work because it is a store and repair facility, but not a dealership. This is despite my having specifically been told that the only thing that Winchester would need to do is to contact the Savannah location for them to get authorization from Keystone to perform the work. Savannah told me that Winchester would bill them, they would reimburse Winchester and then Savannah would then bill Keystone.
I was very clear that being able to have Winchester do work, both warranty and extended warranty, was a make-or-break condition of the purchase. Sadly, they opted to tell me a story that would get me to purchase the new coach and then changed their story after it was too late for me to do anything about it.
I guess that in our current economy, large companies simply will do or say anything that it takes to squeeze a dollar out of their customers.
Same old CW story...Camping friends of ours have finally thrown in the towel on their warrenty service issues with the new (last year 2011) 5'er they bought from CW. (slideout electrical issues & black water holding tank leak) Three attempts to fix, three failures. They've found another warranty dealer willing to get to the bottom of the problems for them. Once the check is cashed, you and your RV cease to exist apparently at CW.
Happy camping!!! See y'all down the road!!!

Update: I received a call from the service manager in Savannah a few minutes ago. Apparently, his calls to Winchester are going unanswered.
I have asked for the name and phone number of the district manager for the Winchester store in hopes that a call to him will resolve this internal communications issue.

Good luck. I shop at that store (Winchester) , only for immediate needs.
