Hi folks,
I have a 2-way Norcold fridge. It works perfectly on AC or generator but it has been acting up on propane. Last week it wouldn't switch to propane automatically when I unplugged the shore power but I got it to switch to propane by manually switching in to LP. After it started it cycled on and of perfectly all week. I plugged in the shore power last night to pre-cool the fridge for another departure today and I can't get it to fire on propane at all. There's lots of gas and the gas is on. The range works no problem. I stopped by a random dealer on the way to camp but they are booked for the next week... I have no shore power at camp but I can run my eu2000 Honda generator every few hours to keep it cool. Any ideas?
Poke around for something easy. Mine recently would not run on propane because the gas valve electric terminals became corroded. By the time I wiggled the wires back to get a voltage reading it started working. Not that this is your trouble but could be something simple.
When I pulled into camp this afternoon it was 99*...Hot! and no AC. I cranked up the eu2000 Honda and the poor thing has been working it's tail off. I just turned it off for the night, with the fridge hopefully cool enough to last the night and... wouldn't you know it, the fridge started on propane automatically as it should. I still don't know what the problem is but I'll take this resolution for now.
Thanks folks. I'll check the things you mentioned when the... darn thing stop again.
