Any difference in material thickness? Sorry about all the questions, I'm learning.

Don't think so. Back of pinbox cut at 45° angle.

Same problem with mt Big Sky 3625re and I just let it ride as it is only a small nick at this time but might look at the cutting off the end to stop any more nicks. Thanks for the suggestion as in my 2011 F350 drw long bed it has the resse 24K factory installed so no height adjustment there.
Good luck Happy camping to ALL.

When we bought our 5vr, I had the dealer raise up the pinbox to the top level, for two reasons. The first reason was to lower the front end of the trailer to level it out and the second was for the very same reason that this thread was started. I'm able to get full swing clearance (until I crush the truck cab) over the truck bedrails on a level surface whether the slider is in or out.

Larry,

Does your trailer have an extended pin or one that comes straight down (more or less)? Extended pin boxes hitting the side of your box are not all that unusual. The best bet is to replace the extended pin box with a more conventional one.

I don't understand you comment. Raising the pinbox and getting more clearance seem to be complete opposites to me. Please explain.

LOWERING the pinbox giving more clearance I understand...

I did the same thing several years back with a different trailer and hitch. If I remember correctly I just raised the hitch one bolt hole. That worked. I'm also pulling a 31Ksls Cameo. It has a Mor Ride pin box, and I have the Pullrigh SG in hitch. Great combinition and all problems are solved.

If the pinbox is longer than 1/2 the width of the truck bed, you're likely to have issues in tight turning situations.

I "parked" my Cameo on the top of the right bed rail years ago...backing into an inclined camping spot. After that experience I realized that I'd nicked the left bed rail at least twice backing into my own driveway.

I replaced the extended pinbox with one that's 18" shorter. I can now jack the rig past 90*...if absolutely necessary. I cannot, however, hitch with the OEM tailgate lowered because it will contact the front compartment door.

I have the same truch as you but with the 18,000lb hitch and it has height adjustments. Are you sure yours doesn't?

I suppose it's how you look at it. The hitch was at it's highest level and when the trailer was hitched, the front of it was high and not sitting level. I had the dealer move the pin box higher up into the box mount so that the front of the trailer was lowered to level it out. With hitch at its highest level, the pinbox easily clears the bedrails.

OK I understand now. Sorry for being slow. You weren't talking about making more clearance for the body of your RV you were talking about the frame where the pin box attaches.

It never occurred to me that there might be combinations out there where that would be an issue. Mine doesn't even come close.
