If if makes you feel any better a good friend just bought himself a long distance Trawler. 7400 gallon tanks (there are a few). Imagine his sticker shock on first fill

Of course he can go to Hawaii from Vancouver + on that fill

We took on 8000 gallons in Cabo once.....
Meter on the pump turned over at 1000 so the gentleman just kept track on a scratch pad, I kept track in my head.....
When he said 9000 gallons I asked to see the pad, counted 8, and said I'll pay you for 8000 and no tip!

Luckily for you guys with big tanks the meters go higher here!

And we thought it hurt when we fill up. At least we get Miles per Gallon, NOT GALLONS PER MILE.

This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.

My old rig has the distinct advantage of large tanks: cargo water (100 gal), sanitaries (50 gal each), and fuel (75 gal). The real issue is that if they are all full, I'm WAY over GVWR.

Not overly concerned about depreciation with this rig...

Good news though is that it's not likely you will have ALL the tanks full while traveling.

Previous moho had 100gal tank and present moho has 150 gal tank. It's nice to go 800+ miles before looking for fuel.

In the end the $$ spent is the same whether you fill a small or large tank.

My daughter & SIL just bought a 1982 Bluebird. They were a little shocked at the 265 gal. tank. They figure they will fill up once a year and then pay off the mortage by next year again. Since we are all going to Canada next month I will be the only one stopping for gas in the MH.

We have a 200 gal tank in our "Monaco" and can comfortably do around 1100 to 1200 miles between fills.

As "Rich D" knows, I don't think there are any units that can beat the "Bluebirds" and their 300 gal tanks.

Yep, With the large tanks it hurts more but less often!!!!

I'd LOVE to have a 265 gallon tank.

I really dislike stopping for gas.

My 78 itasca has 90 gallons 50 main 40 aux. Ive only been on one long trip but it looks like i can go about 500 miles or so which is nice to only get a few gallons inTok at 4.70 a gallons insread of alot of gas in Tok And more in Glennallen like my olfpd rig with only a 40 gallon tank. Gas in anchorage has dropped to 4.07 now and seems to be falling daily almost. Id love to see 3.xx gas soon here....
