I'd be really embarrassed if someone asked what my coach was worth now!

If you don't ask you don't learn, quite often they may be just talking about moving up and have no idea what they cost, so curious they ask. Although with the internet now adays I'd be more inclined to look it up.

When I had our Pleasureway I was always asked how much . People were shocked at the price .
With the Class A diesel pusher I traded up to I have yet to be asked . I guess they know it cost an arm and leg

I had a similar experience only the campers were very nice people who were camping next to us in a TT. The father was truly interested in our motor home so we even gave him a tour of the MH and he was very impressed. Many people are curious about motor homes and have lots of questions which is very understandable. I was the same way when we were researching the RV life style and going full-timing. I feel like I am returning the favor that other motorhomers extended to me when I doing my research. Happy RVing All!

DW and I have done that too. We've had quite a few people we met at different CGs that we gave the grand tour to. Some were interested in stepping up to a DP, and others just like checking it out. I have done the same thing with other campers we've camped with.
I don't usually ask or talk about price, but in most cases the person will get to that after a walk through. Most seasoned RVers know what these rigs ballpark at anyways.
Another thing I do is to make it a point to tell some people what the MSRP was when we bought it, and what it's worth a couple years later.
Grass always looks greener on the other side lol.
The reason I do this is to let them know that if they are planing on making the move up, buy one that they plan to keep for many years to come. MHs are not an investment, they are an expense.
In my case yes, I paid a lot of money that I'll never get back, but I plan to keep it till the wheels fall off so I don't care. The enjoyment we get from owning it, far outweighs the money factor.
Just my humble opinion.

I had a man ask me a few questions about our coach while I was refueling it. Of course he wanted to know MPG, how long it was follwed by "about how much was that new?" I told him I got around 8.5 mpg towing a pretty 4,200 pound SUV. I said that it was a 40 feet long. As for the price, I told him that I didn't buy the coach new but the suggested selling price was around $200,000 when it was new. I told him I got a great deal on it a couple of years ago. He told me the coach was beautiful and that one day he and his wife hope to be able to have something just as nice. We exchanged a few more pleasant words and we both left the pumps.
If feel like some of the others. If people ask the question, why not give them the answer.

I always provide the sticker price and explain that MH pricing is available on the Internet.
At the fuel pump, when asked about mileage, I say "8.5 which isn't bad for a house towing a heavy vehicle"

How much it costs is no bother to me. In ten years on the road I've been asked by at least 10 perfect strangers if thay can enter my coach to look. Sorry I say my dog bites. They get the message. Imagine going to the door of someones unique home and asking to inspect the design. Totally DUMB.

For such a fun loving, laid back, easy going bunch of people (RVers), I find some responses pretty harsh. It's not like they're asking for a pint of blood.
I reply with the, If you go to the Fleetwood web sites, the new ones start under xxxx and go to over xxxxxxx. We couldn't afford new so we bought used and saved a bunch. This model new runs about xxxx and is in the entry category.
