We are home from Calf. so now I need to look for new tires. My question for now should they be balanced.

Just like any tire shop would balance any tire.

I balance mine, including the spare. Figure it can't hurt.

I'm a believer. Unbalanced tires will cup over time and it has to be hard on the bearings. It is hard to find someone who can do them properly. They have to be mounted on the lugs holes not on the center like automobiles. They can not seem to find a proper adapter.

If you have those cheap Carlisle steel rims good luck. A lot of them don't run true to start with and the welds are anything but even and symmetrical.

Absolutely, other wise they may bounce, wear faster, wear bearings sooner and cost you more fuel.
