Turn off and back on the two breakers on the generator itself.
Next place would be the ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch).

Brett is right
sounds like NO output from the generator start the breakers then check the ATS (automatic transfer switch)
Options, always have options, and the journey goes much smoother

Just had the same problem, ended up replacing the ATS at the local Cummins Dealer $500.00 plus time. No charge for determining the problem by dealer.

On my EMS there is a button on the bottom of the panel that you press to manually select where power comes from (30 amp, genset and a third from what I recall). I thought there was a problem with the transfer switch but manually selected genset and all went well after that.
