Both of us have hands that are weakening from arthritis.
We have been able to work around this by different positions or aids on almost everything in our lives except our black and grey water connectors.
They are a bear to twist on and off!

I have a strap wrench that gives plenty of leverage, but it takes three hands to position it along with the hose to hook up, so it's not the solution.

Any ideas out there?

Maybe it's time for a permanent macerator hookup

Another option is a blueline sewer hose. It has a slip on quick connect on the hose and you mount the adapter one time on the sewer outlet. One down side is you won't have a cover on the sewer connection while not in use, but it would certainly ease attaching the hose.

Blueline sewer hose.

Very large pair of chanel locks? I have a pair that opens to around 6" that would only take 2 hands. One hand for the hose and one for the chanel locks. Just an idea. GOOD LUCK,WILL

I have the same problem, and have a rubber mallet I use to gently tap the fitting loose or tight. I also lube the fitting with either dish soap or veggie oil.

My connection is recessed under the rv to some extent and awkward to reach. I found a clear extender that attaches first that is about 14 inches long and allows attachment with my hands on the out board side of the rv. The clear extender made for purpose is probably to give a visual indication of flow

I have to do all that stuff now since Don no longer can - I also have arthritis in my hands and cannot do those connections. My solution as stated above, a permanently mounted macerator. It is connected one time (by a younger ablebodied person) so all that has to be done at dump time is to pull out the 1" hose and twist the end into the sewer pipe then push a button! I love it!!! No more big hard to store hoses, either!

I don't know about the clearances you have...but you might be able to do a simple mod to each of your fittings.

Drill an appropriate sized hole thru the fitting. Insert a carriage bolt from the inside out...threads sticking out of the fitting...Use an epoxy to glue it into place. The round top on the carraige bolt will hopefully not snag toilet paper, etc...

Screw on a handle...similar to the ones that screw onto big drills. I'm sure you can source them as a replacement part from places like SEARS...

Now, each of your fittings will have a handle sticking out, which will give you the leverage of the strap wrench...without all the hassles of needing three hands to position it each time.

Years ago I bought a sewer adapter wrench at Camping World. Just a few dollars.
