We are looking at going down for a week in early August and was wondering if any of you knew a campground that has waterfront sites. Have been looking with not much luck. Thanks.
Lake of the Ozarks State Park is the only place I can think of that gets you close to the water. I am not sure if the sites closest to the water have utilities. Go to the state parks web site and check it out.

Lake of the Ozarks State Park. Section 4 has hookup sites on the water. Site 139 is our favorite. You do have to reserve in advance to get those sites.

Yes, site 139 is a good site next to the water. Sites 148-151 are in the sun, no trees. Sites 155, 156 and 157 along that loop have trees between sites and water, may be a path? These sites (126, 137, 131) and the others on the same side of road position your door on the wrong side (not facing water). Sites 127 and 128 and the other sites on that side of road position your door so you will have a lake view while sitting by your trailer. Watch for my buddy the little gray squirrel with the white tip on his tail! Happy camping!
