I have a new class A Winnebago Vista with the HWH leveling jacks. When the jacks down warning buzzer goes off it sounds like someone put a smoke detector in your ear. My last class C MH had a chime that was not nearly as deafening as this thing is. Talked to Winnebago and asked them if I was doing something wrong and if there was a certain ignition key position I could put it in during operation to make it stop. They stated that they want it to be loud but this ridiculous. They went on to say that the engine should be running during operation so that they received a maximum amount of current from the alternator/battery. I asked if there was a way to control the volume and they said there wasn't but that some people had put tape or something over it to muffle the sound. Asked where it was located and they siad it was probably buried up under the dash and would be difficult to get to. Does anyone know where it is and what have others done to quiet this thing. Is there a fuse I can pull?
If you can find it and get access to the wires to it, you will find that it is probably powered by 12 volts. That means that you can substitute any other kind of buzzer, beeper, or light, that also runs off of 12 volts.
I don't under stand, if the buzzer is sounding it means the jacks are still down, or that there is a problem with the jacks down system that makes it alarm even if the jacks are UP. It could be it is low on hydraulic fluid or if the system has a switch on each jack, that maybe the switch is malfunctioning. You should be trying to find out why the alarm is sounding and not trying to silence the alarm.

This reminds me of the time when I was getting tired of hearing the blaring smoke detector, but I couldn't use my ear plugs because they were melting from the fire. Ok, that didn't actually happen, and it was a rather poor analogy, but the point is that alarms are meant to be heard and heeded, so before disconnecting any buzzers you might want to be certain of why it's buzzing.

I'm not sure if your situation occurs only when the engine is running and the jack are down, or while operating them up and down, or while driving as a warning. Here was my situation, which might not be related.
I had a "false" jacks down alarm as I was driving down the road on a trip to CA with my HWH jacks. I called CoachNet who put me in touch with a an Itasca technician, who offered suggestions about how to eliminate the alarm sound... none of which worked. (Ding, ding, ding). He did offer that the jacks would not deploy if the springs were in place, so we continued to drive with the alarm sounding ~1200 miles (Ding, ding, ding) so as not to interfere with our trip, and had it fixed when we returned home.
Call #1: I asked the technician where the alarm was located, and he said that it depended which day of the week the MH was manufactured? He told me to remove the inside control panel cover and disconnect the wires. (Ding, ding, ding).
Call #2: He then said to remove the dashboard cover and disconnect the red warning dashboard light, and that I might be able to see the alarm, which I could not. (Ding, ding, ding). I was able to disconnect the red flashing light.
Call #3: He said to look near the exterior control panel for a fuse or fuses, only some of which I could locate, but not all (Ding, ding, ding). If that didn't work then I should disconnect the wire bundles from the exterior of the control panel, some of which I could not physically disconnect with out breaking them. (Ding, ding, ding)
When I returned home, the exterior control panel ($$$) needed to be replaced, which apparently solved the problem. I'm thinking that there was probably another issue more related to the hydraulic fluid level, which was overflowing in the ~90 degree temps, and dirty jack cylinders. The repair mechanic told a friend of mine that he thought that circuits in the exterior control panel were damaged by my disconnecing things, but I'm sceptical, and he has since been fired so I had no direct conversation with him?

Perhaps my Monaco built coach is different but my alarm starts sounding as soon as any one of the jacks extends more than 4".
From that point on until the leveling is complete the alarm is sounding. It also sounds continuously until the last jack is retraced to less than 4". It is a little irritating when trying to level the coach but my alarm may not be as loud as the OP's. Perhaps he just wants it to be a little quieter, not eliminate it completely.
