Does anyone have any suggestions for darkening the bed area? The canvas is a great wakeup call at 0600 and while I might be good for it on some days others don't feel the same. Any ideas/suggestions/input would be greatly appreciated. I hope this isn't a repost.

do a search here on Popup Gismos or solar blankets.
thousands of posts of why this is the #1 hybrid mod.
an extra benefit of using them is exactly what you want to do.

If the Pop Up Gizmos don't darken it enough for you, they have recently come out with an insulated liner for the entire inside of the bunkend. Made of the same stuff as the PUGs, I believe. That would do it for sure.

I highly recommend the Popup Gizmos. I'm on my second set and would recommend them to anyone. They not only darken the ends but also will make a noticeable difference in the temps inside the bunkends.

PUGs only darken the top. Sides are uncovered. I just left a site in Pigeon Forge where I was camped beneath a streetlamp. The glow came through the sides no problem but the roof off the bunkend was fine under the PUG. Still, I managed to sleep in the glow.

We use the popup gizmo for the top and custom cut reflectix panels in the window/screen area. Really makes a huge difference for keeping it dark but is a great way to have temp control in hot or cold weather.

I purchased reflextix (?) from Lowe's and lined the inside of the bunk ends. Not only kept out the light but cooled the ends very well. Cost me about $75.00 to do both ends.
