Heading over the Sierra's via South Lake Tahoe (Hwy 50) then south to Vegas ~ wondering best route, i.e. 207 to Hwy 395 then over 208 to Yerington and catch Hwy 95 South? Any suggestions appreciated!

I usually take 50 to 95 or 95A (same distance) to Vegas. Do not recommend the route you laid out steep, crooked, slow. I have driven it but prefer 50 to 95.

Okay. So mileage wise it may be a little longer but because of road condition it makes it a better choice going Hwy 50 from So Lake Tahoe up over to Silver Springs and taking 95A down to 95 and on south. Looks okay to me and I much prefer a smoother route! Thanks!

207 is 9% grade for 8+ miles down hill from Tahoe. I think you made the right choice

Wow, 8+ miles ~ that's a good way to ruin your brakes! Thanks for input ~ appreciate. We'll take the Hwy 50 route!

Good choice but take it slow heading down the hill on 50 after Spooner Summit. Good 4 lane hwy but curvy and a good distance of downhill. Costco at bottom of hill if you need to stock up.
