I have a 2011 GMC Acadia with a blue ox base plate.
I have had them on our 2000 suburban and our 2010 ford edge.
both towed perfect. Our Acadia wants to steer straight around corners compared to the other vehicles. The suburban has a 30" width from center tabs and the edge has a 26" width. The Acadia has an 18" width. I contacted Blue ox and they have a plate adapter to increase the width to 24" (bx88133).
I have realized the Acadia is narrow compared to the other vehicles, but question why they would sell the base plate if there is a problem when turning or not advising to add the adapter with the base plate.
It is not a problem to add, but wanted to know if anyone with an Acadia need to add this. All vehicle pull from the same location from the hitch.
Towing a 2010 Acadia with the Blue Ox Aventa LX towbar and base plate, the vechicle towing and tracking are no problems. Don't even know that it is back there.
