Is there any problem running a built in generator all night in a Walmart parking lot? I figure we would park away from other RVs that may be staying overnight.
I don't think it would be a problem if the ambient noise is equal to your generator, or you are in a commercial section, with no homes nearby.
Yet if I lived across a fence from Wal Mart, and your generator was keeping me awake, I would call a cop to have your generator shut off, and the noise goes away.
Depends where you park. Depends on amount of RV's in lot. Depends on if you anticipate others coming in after you. Why run a generator all night anyway?
Sure you can, I do. If them temp is high, I want to be cool for the night. I have my generator secured in the back of my truck and never had a problem or complaint. Thats why I have a generator.

Running your generator will not be as loud as the street sweeper that may do dounuts around you at 4AM. If you have to run your generator all night a Passport America CG may not be any more expensive than the cost of running your generator. I figure it costs me $2/hour with fuel, filters, oil, as it all adds up.
This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.
No problem, run it. You will blend in with the reefer units of the trucks and all the other noise.
We once overnighted at a Walmart and parked at the end of the store where all their refrigeration units were located, it was a miserable (noisy) night.
Even if you are on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.
