Heading to Silverton CO for 5 nights where it's going to be a cool low 80's. Spending the 4th up there is always a lot of fun. They'll be 12 in our group so it should be fun.
Lake Conroe KOA for 2 nights. Should be able to watch the fireworks over the lake Wednesday night. Then up to Double Lake Recreation Area for 2 days of camping and mountain biking with friends.
Riding the Red Bus at Glacier Nat'l Park on the 4th.
This time I get to 'looky-loo' instead of drive.
I drove the Going to the Sun road on Thursday. They had gotten about 3 inches of snow during the night so the road was closed in the morning, but reopened in the afternoon. Lots of snow at the top. There is road construction so you have to wait, because it is one lane only for a portion - but still worth it. Enjoy!
Camp Driveway for us. Just survived the wind/rain storms on last weekend's trip, and we need to have the gas HW heater fixed. A quick drive through our local SP reassured us we were making a good choice. The clientel appeared to be enjoying their own social lifestyle in a manner just a bit different than we would be comfortable with. We were hoping to take in some local fireworks/music concerts, but the weather forcast is now calling for high temps and possible rain storms Tuesday and Wednesday. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
