It was a very black vehicle and it was extremely obvious with his arm and hand plastered against the front windscreen. A light colored object contrasted against an otherwise black object of something I've already seen him doing doesn't require super powers.

From a few, I must stay in the right lane with no one in front of either of us and wait until I've been passed before I move back over to the left lane to pass a guy that just passed me so I can pass him even though he's still going slower than myself or even prevailing traffic. Makes sense to me. I'm going to quit using my mirrors to see if traffic and lanes are clear.

To the rest I appreciate the comments. I will still try minding my Ps and Qs out there.

Not to hijack the thread, but wanted to relate a similar "left lane" incident that happened to me a few days ago. Headed west out of the Okanagan Valley up over a steep pass on a multi-lane highway, driving a 24'Class C. I was in no hurry and stayed in the right lane, along with several big-rig trucks that were grinding up the hill. Plenty of room in the left lane for cars to pass, and several did. No problem until we hit a left-lane closure for road maintenance and got into the clouds at the same time. Canadians tend to close the lane well in advance of the actual work being done, and there were only small traffic cones spaced well apart to indicate the lane was still closed. All traffic funneled into my lane, and I was hanging back from a slow big truck in front of me. Eventually several auto drivers got tired of having to travel at the speed set by the big truck, and pulled into the left (CLOSED!) lane to go around!!! Yikes!! At this point the visibility was about 100 yards, but I was cringing waiting for somebody to slam into the road crews in that left lane.
After awhile we pased the actual construction, but the left lane was still closed, and by now visibility is down to about 50 feet, forcing the truck driver to slow still more. I actually had to stay kinda tight to him just to maintain visual contact, although it helped once he finally turned his lights on. By this time there was another large truck on my tail keeping station as well. Once again several car drivers took it upon themselves to re-occupy the closed left lane and speed up to pass us slow-pokes, only to discover once they passed that their xray vision was on the fritz and they couldn't see a darn thing either! The smart(ish) ones slowed right down, but several just kept powering on. This went on for at least 4-5 miles before the cones ended, thankfully with no road workers being run down by these idiots. About this same time we descended back down out of the clouds and traffic could flow freely again.
Made me wish for a cop to be there, although no sane cop would attempt a traffic stop in those conditions. Fortunately the road workers were protected by a very bright sign truck just prior to the actual workers, although I'm thinking a few spike strips might have helped get the point across.....

You should have let him come right on up to your rear bumper and then give him the mother of all brake checks.

I have had people cut ME OFF on the road, then give me the dirty look and the finger. Some people are just crazy.

Just a finger cramp, don't worry about it.

Really stupid idea!

Yep, actually drove to all of these places---in the last eight years. Missed Rhode Island and New Jersey.

Nope, I was down in Texas at the time.

I wouldn't do a "brake check" as that's asking for disaster on everyone's part. Besides, my 3,000 pounds versus his 30,000??? I don't think I would win. Nor want to.

True.......unless he was attempting to pass......which the OP indicates he was.

But he went into the left line with no chance of passing as the OP was in bumper to bumper traffic. An RV going into the left lane with no chance for going back into the right lane after a short time of passing is not in the right place IMO.
